Tell us about yourself!
After the end of the 19/20 school year and the sluggish start to the 20/21 school year I felt compelled to run for Oconomowoc School Board.
I have never been involved in school politics, my involvement has always been at a federal level, but the pandemic, and the failed leadership of some on the board has compelled me to make a bid for a seat on the board, our community, We, the People, the taxpayers, our children, all deserve better.
I’ve been a stay at home mom for 17 years, occasionally going back to work, and often donating my chef/catering experience to local charities for fun, family dinner parties. After years of being a stay at home mom I’ve decided to “dust off” my career that started by serving the people of the great state of North Carolina under the direction of Robert Wilkie at the North Carolina Republican Party. I went back to work this summer joining the fight to get schools open, working with a team putting cases in front of the Wisconsin Supreme Court blocking municipalities from overstepping and closing religious schools. Most recently I was called to serve the President and worked along side some of the most brilliant legal minds in this Country defending his right to a fair election.
It’s time to give our children’s education back to We, the People, the taxpayers, the parents! It’s time to put kids first, and remove any and all agendas from their education! I look forward to serving the beautiful Oconomowoc Community, it will be the honor of a lifetime to return the power to the people.
Are you currently, or have you ever been a teacher or administrator for any school district?
Have you attended any school board meetings over the last year?
Why are you running for the school board?
Because our children deserve board members that put the kids first, not themselves and their political agenda.
What skills and experiences do you have that will prepare you to be a board member?
I spent my career before becoming a stay at home mom in politics.
What differentiates you from other candidates running for the board?
I'm a Conservative.
Did you support the recent recall efforts?
If you answered yes, what actions did you take?
I was working for the President's campaign, so regrettably had no time other than to sign the petition to give.
What is your vision for education in this community?
A return to the core values of this County, to put an end to the Socialist agenda.
What issues do you believe our district needs to address? What are your recommendations?
Most importantly we need our children in school. Hybrid, virtual, et all, does not work. We need to put the education of the children first, making sure they have a clear understanding of the history we come from, good and bad, and to return to the classic educational process that has stood the test of time, and none of this nonsense that is there now.
How does a school board balance the need to provide quality education with the need to respond to the taxpayer burden?
As a community we are overtaxes and under-delivered to with the kids education. We have teachers looking at parents - their employers - and saying things like "I don't want to die because you think your child has a right to an education." Well, our children do have a right to an education, it's a Constitutional right! Teachers like that either need further education, or to leave the profession all together. The constant raises they get needs to stop! Taxpayers need to get what they are paying for and not receive a bigger bill every year for less work done.
How do you feel about the common core curriculum, what are its advantages/disadvantages?
I see zero advantages to the common core curriculum.
What is the best way to address differences of opinion among board members?
Sub committees. They actually work. Instead of the group meetings where we just have to listen to endless rantings of those with an agenda.
How will you communicate with and be accessible to the community you represent?
I'm always available, even now, as a I am representing the Presidents right to a fair election. I think almost everyone has my phone number or email address and it's always shared as needed.
